ZA TEAM

LAUREN and MARK started Slice of Chicago Pizza Tours because their friends and family enjoyed sampling different Chicago style deep-dish pizzas evey time they visited Chicago. They decided to create a fun and interesting tour for Chicagoans and tourists alike. This is a great opportunity to taste multiple Chicago pies and learn the rich history of Chicago deep-dish pizza, its legendary figures and culture. Chicago is the home and birthplace of deep-dish pizza and you will learn about this aspect of Chicago history, while you walk off the calories that you consume on this Chicago food tour.
DIANA You might think that Diana was born to lead to Pizza Tours: She loves people, pizza and walking. "The thing I love about leading the tours was learning the history of how Chicago pizza came as it is today. I learn something new from someone on every tour!" Outside of pizza tours, Diana is an urban planner, community activist, bicyclist and a certified yoga instructor. As you can see, she needs lots of pizza to fuel her busy life. "My mom used to tell me I could do anything I wanted, and here's the proof of that!" Her favorite toppings are pineapple, but to her it's all about the crust.

ANGELA joined ‘Za team’ to pursue her dream of being a tour guide! Her head is full of trivia knowledge and being a tour guide is the best outlet to unleash these facts! With a love for the giving and receiving of new information, being a part of ‘Za team’ allows for Angela to drop some hardcore deep dish pizza knowledge while being schooled by you about worldwide pizza facts. Angela is a renaissance woman as she is also a yoga instructor, retail merchandiser and steakhouse hostess. Phew, what can’t she juggle?! As a vegetarian, she bats for the extra cheese team. Let’s go cheese!
WILL loves leading Slice of Chicago Pizza Tours because they combine his two great loves, pizza and being loud. His plays (which are, sadly, mostly not about pizza) have been performed in the New York International Fringe and Capital Fringe Festivals. He is also the current artistic director of the Element New Plays Festival, which promotes works in progress by emerging playwrights. As for pizza toppings, pineapple is Will's favorite, but he has also been known to enjoy anchovies.
GABRIEL considers leading deep dish tours his next big step in becoming a true "pizza aficionado" in the city of Chicago. Aside from being an avid history buff, he also spends his free time trying as many of the 2000 plus pizzerias in the city of Chicago with his pizza club. When not pursuing a passion for pizza, Gabriel is also a foodie, an aspiring educator, a cyclist, and a designer. On his pizza, Gabriel usually goes for spinach, but will get a little wild with shrimp and black olives from time to time. Please enjoy Gabe's Pizza Blog.
